Bluesafe B.V. (part of the Lateral Blue group), has been specialising for 30 years in the supply of personal protective equipment in its entire range.

Personal protection in the workplace is an extremely important aspect, as it provides more confidence to the worker and leads to greater productivity in all work sectors.

Our goal is to achieve, together with our clients, improved safety in their workplaces and to increase the safety of their workplace.

Bluesafe B.V. constantly updates its products to adapt them to the workplace and make them more comfortable for the worker, as personal protection is increasingly tending to meet the needs of the people who use them.

OUR HISTORY

1970

Groeneveld B.V, a distributor of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the Netherlands, becomes the exclusive distributor of “Jallatte” shoes.
Pieter de Graaf worked for Groeneveld Dordrecht.

1974

Jallatte employee Henry Bacou acquired an old shoe factory and started his own production of safety shoes and boots under the name Bacou S.A.

1975

Bacou S.A. has expanded its production line to include fall protection, respiratory equipment, gloves and other products related to personal safety.

1984

United Safety Holding B.V.is founded in the Netherlands as the parent company of Groeneveld B.V.. The company Groeneveld B.V. was later renamed Intersafe B.V..

1986

Bacou S.A. entered into a partnership with Intersafe B.V. with the aim of establishing a global security brand and developing an international distribution network.
Henry Bacou and Pieter de Graaf jointly established the company Bacou Intersafe International B.V..

1990

Bacou Intersafe International B.V. distributes a wide range of personal safety products through a global network that includes 90 distributors, spanning from Europe to South America, the Middle East and Asia.

1993

Bacou USA is established as a private subsidiary of Bacou S.A.

1995

Pieter de Graaf of Bacou Intersafe International B.V opened a branch office in Havana, Cuba.
In the 1990s, the Bacou Group established itself as the leading global supplier of PPE, achieving revenues of over US$1 billion in 1999.

2001

Bacou S.A. and Dalloz S.A. They merged to form Bacou-Dalloz.

2007

Bacou-Dalloz changed its name to Sperian Protection.

2010

US company Honeywell has acquired Sperian Protection.

Bacou Intersafe’s branch in Cuba was separated due to US sanctions. Pieter de Graaf continued sales in Cuba with the company De Graaf Holding en Trade B.V.

2020

Lateral Blue Group acquired De Graaf Holding and Trade B.V, becoming Bacou Intersafe and United Safety.

2021

De Graaf Holding en Trade B.V. changed its name to Bluesafe B.V.
Opening of the Bluesafe B.V. branch in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

2023

Bluesafe B.V and United Safety B.V have merged, consolidating their operations under the name Bluesafe B.V.

2025

Bluesafe celebrates 30 years of providing Personal Protective Equipment for the Cuban market.
